Gallus Media was founded by Dave Donald, a seasoned Producer based in Glasgow.  The company grew from 14^th Floor Productions, which he established in 2020 and swiftly secured its debut commission – Mark Walters: In The Footsteps of Andrew Watson.  This acclaimed BBC documentary spotlights the remarkable story of Andrew Watson, a black footballer who captained the Scotland football team in 1881.  It contrasts his experience of racism in Glasgow the 1880s with that faced by Mark Walters in the 1980’s.  The programme clinched an RTS Scotland Award.

His follow-up documentary, Dougray Scott: Bringing Football Home, reveals the pivotal role Scotland played in creating modern football and how the game is arguably our nation’s greatest gift to the world.  Its streaming now on iPlayer.

Dave has recently delivered a new prime-time series for Channel 4 featuring Alan Cumming on a luxury train tour of Scotland on board the exclusive Royal Scotsman.In April Dave attended the inaugural Cross Continental Forum in Barbados, as part of a UK delegation supported by the BFI.  The forum brings together industry leaders, professionals and innovators to foster co-production opportunities with the Global South.Dave is an alumni of The TV Collective’s Breakthrough Leaders programme.
